Louise ‘Lou’ Grant has the privilege and deep joy of supporting the SE community internationally. She is passionate about supporting the growth of the SE community and enjoys journeying with students in a playful way to learn SE from the inside out.

With a profound understanding of how the body and brain work in unison, her underlining principal in therapy is to “Help people reconnect with their inner wisdom, and to grow in the trust of their own healing capabilities hidden within”.

Lou is a member of National Disaster Response Network (APS). Alongside Private Practice, she has long supported and supervised clinicians and contributed to Trauma education within Australian Universities.

Her qualifications include, not limited to; Bachelor/Masters Psychology, Registered Counselling and Clinical Psychologist, AHPRA registered Primary Clinical Supervisor, Post Graduate training in EMDR, Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Psychedelic Assisted Therapy (PAT), Yoga for Embodiment, and Attachment Informed EMDR. Facilitation of community group programs including; Brene Brown’s – Connections, Blue Knot -Foundations for Building Trauma Awareness, Managing Wellbeing and Recognising Vicarious Trauma, and Trauma Awareness: Supporting People with a disability. Her expertise has allowed her to not only help her community with trauma related issues, but future professionals as they study in some of Australia’s universities. Lou intricately weaves SE into her specialised teachings in university courses such as ‘Introduction to Trauma Counselling’, ‘Experiential Group Therapy’ and ‘Group Supervision’.

Her studies in the field continue and are guided by the work of Dr. Peter Levine, Dr. Abi Blakeslee PhD, Twig Wheeler, Dr. Frank Corrigan, Mark Seelig and Babette Rothschild.

She brings to the SE Community and her private practice a rich blend of knowledge, skill application and humanity along with a deep understanding of trauma related issues and how our body-brain can unobtrusively heal.
